Cheap Maternity Clothes: Both Professional and Casual Maternity Clothes
Where You Can Buy Professional and Casual Maternity Clothes on a Budget
Cheap Maternity Clothes: Second-Hand Clothes
Since maternity clothes are only worn for a short time they are generally gently used. You can buy maternity clothes extremely cheap if you are willing to look in the right places.
Garage Sales: Find out the garage sale or yard sale days in your area. Look for garage sales that feature kid or baby items and there's a good chance you'll find maternity clothes. When I was pregnant I found two like-new maternity suits that were perfect to wear to work at a garage sale. The total cost for the suits was $20 and I was able to negotiate the price down to $15.
Thrift Stores: Thrift stores such as Goodwill may have some maternity clothes on their racks. It may take some sorting through to find what you are looking for but maternity clothes at thrift stores are very cheap.
Consignment Shops: The children's clothing consignment shop near me also carries maternity clothes that women are trying to sell. You can find both casual and professional maternity clothes here and at women's apparel consignment shops.
Mom Groups: When I was done having my kids, I gave all of my maternity clothes to a friend in my mom group. She was about the same height and size so she got a full maternity wardrobe for free.
Cheap Maternity Clothes: Online Shopping
The biggest problem with buying maternity clothes online is the size differences. If you are a size ten then size ten maternity clothes may or may not fit you when you are pregnant.
Overstock.com: Overstock.com is an online store that specializes in buying overstocked items and selling them cheaper than you can find the clothes in the stores. There selection is limited and changes often.
Swapstyle.com: Swapstyle.com is an online clothing and accessory swapping website. You can swap maternity clothes for free. Swapstyle is unique because you can find both professional and casual clothes from around the world.
Motherhood.com: Motherhood.com is the online store for the retail chain Motherhood Maternity. The website has the same sales as the retail store. The best part about the website is their size chart. This chart compares your pre-pregnancy size and converts it to the maternity size you should need. If there isn't a Motherhood Maternity store near you, their website is the next best thing for cheap maternity clothes.
Cheap Maternity Clothes: Brick and Mortar Stores
Shopping for maternity clothes at a retail store maybe the more expensive option but it is convenient if you need clothes and don't have the time to search for cheaper items. The good news is that retail stores regularly put maternity clothes on sale.
Motherhood Maternity: Motherhood Maternity was one my favorite stores when I was pregnant. The store had both professional and casual maternity clothes at prices that won't break the budget. The best part about Motherhood Maternity is that they would help you try on maternity clothes and offer suggestions on sizes and styles.
Retail Chain Stores: Maternity clothes go on sale at all the major retail stores at some point. If you are looking for cheap casual maternity clothes then you can try Target, Kmart, or Walmart.
Department Stores: Cheap and professional maternity clothes maybe a little harder to find so you may have to shop the more expensive department stores. Macy's, JCPenney's, and Dillard's all have maternity departments. These stores offer coupons that can be used to purchase items that are already on sale.
Keep these places in mind when looking for cheap maternity clothes. You are better off spending your budget on the new addition to your family then on the maternity clothes you are only going to wear for a short time.

The worst is finding maternity suits!
Great info, excellent read and wow so helpful!
NOt that I will ever need this, but good job.
Kohl's has maternity clothes, too! Not a whole lot, but it's worth a look. I actually found some long-inseam maternity pants at Kohl's. I also bought lots of stuff on clearance at Motherhood Maternity when I was pregnant. :)

Great info. I love thrift stores.
Super info. I was PG at the time when women weren't allowed to work while pregnant. Luckily the empire waist clothing was highly popular at the time and it hid the pregnancy. I love the new professional looks in maternity wear. Finally someone got the idea that you're not disabled by pregnancy. (although insanity does come with having children.)
