Cheap Organic Green Beans Review: Libby's Organic Green Beans

These Organic Green Beans Had Some Pros and Cons

Lately I have been getting organic canned vegetables. Some of them I have found to taste really, really good and others just don't come close enough to frozen or fresh that I prefer not to get them. Some have been close to two dollars in cost and some have been under a dollar. The most recent canned vegetable that I got was Libby's Organic Green Beans. I have previously tried Libby's Organic Tender Sweet Peas and Organic Whole Kernel Sweet Corn. They had very fair prices and I thought that I would give their green beans a try too, here is what I thought of them.

To be completely honest I found a lot of pros and cons with these organic green beans. I find it difficult to say mean things about food items, especially organic food item, but I just don't think that it is fair to the readers to sugar coat what I thought of a food item. However wanting to be kind I am going to start with all of the things that I liked about the can of Libby's Organic Green Beans. First of all I really liked that it only cost me eighty-nine cents. For being organic that is an excellent price and considering that the can contained nearly two cups I wasn't complaining at all about the price. Secondly I liked that ingredients were only organic green beans, water and sea salt. I am always happy to see sea salt used in the place of table salt. Thirdly I thought that the nutrition that it offered was not too bad, for being a canned vegetable and all.

On the flip side though there were a number of things that I didn't care for when it came to the Libby's Organic Green Beans. For one, I didn't think that they tasted great. They were certainly all right but I have had much better organic canned green beans. Second, I thought that they were slightly overcooked, and this just added to their taste which at times had somewhat of a sour quality to it. Finally there were things in the nutrition facts that I wished would have been better. The nutrition facts included some good and not so good facts and they were twenty calories per half of a cup of organic green beans as well as three hundred and eighty milligrams of sodium, four grams of carbohydrates, two grams of both fiber and sugars and less than one gram of protein. There was only two percent listed for calcium, twice that for vitamin A and six percent listed for vitamin C.

All in all I wasn't upset that I decided to get the Libby's Organic Green Beans. I do know that I will not be getting them again though. Normally if I have two options and I enjoy the taste of both I'll go with the cheaper option. However in the case of these organic green beans, I think that I will get Westbrae Natural Organic Cut Green Beans instead, even though they are twice the price. If you think that you might enjoy these organic green beans I would recommend getting only one can of Libby's Organic Green Beans to try. That way if you are like me and you don't care for it you won't have stocked up on them.
