Cheap Outings for the Family !

We all lose ourselves in everyday life.We tend to forget what was once important and that is family.We know the famous words of a weekend is Mommy can we go out and our reply is "We don't have the money".

Simple pleasures in life have been lost because of big theme parks and video games.You can take your children out for fun and it not cost you a car payment.I am going to give you free to cheap outing's that most of us have forgotten.Now all you will need to do is make the time and give up the excuses and get in the car and go.

The Beach - Yes this is a given.Pack up the kids for the day and make sure you pack a cooler.Bring your own drinks and food and all you need to worry about is gas..

Parks - Do you know how many parks out there are undiscovered.Way to many.We have updated our parks but most don't even know that because they have been forgotten.Most parks have trails now.We even have dog parks.Oh yes kids love this..

Bike Trails- Almost every county has placed a bike trail in there county.Gives you a safe place to ride and take the kiddies out.You can roller blade,skate board or even walk.They have placed fountains and bathrooms so you don't have to go far.

Historical sites-- Parents this is a good one.Education and fun.Go to your local website and look at what they have put there.They list all historical locations and 90% are free.

Local library's -- They now have children's time.They will have guest reader come in and read to your children and it always a great laugh for the kids to hear.Not only that the get to pick up a new book while they are there.

Home Depot -- sounds funny right.Guess again they hold a work shop to teach kids how to make stuff.Again it is free.

Craft Stores -- they also hold free work shops for the kiddies to teach them neat tricks and how to of crafts...

City Related-- Go to your city on the Internet you will find that they list events like art shows in downtown etc. Most are free.

Here are some cheap ways to also have fun to :

Bowling - great past time and if your child likes it they can even join a league to play against others.Most bowling alleys have a arcade and food.

Roller skating rink-- Come on this was fun for us and it can be fun for your kids too! Again most have arcade and food..

Zoos-- these are much cheaper than your theme parks and hold educational value.They even offer a family deal and you can get a year membership and go as much as you like.It cost alot less than theme parks too.

Flea markets- Most flea markets now hold weekend shows for kids and it doesn't cost to come see it.They provide it in hopes that you will buy something but it doesn't mean you have to.

Camping - There are great camp grounds and it will teach your young-ins how to entertain themselves without T.V.

Fishing -- Couple bucks for the worms and your off.

Boat rentals -- Most big lakes and rivers have boat rentals.They are usually very cheap and all you need is lunch and sunblock and your off.

Ok if you really feel you most stay home here is a few ideas on what to do:

Water day -- think of all the ways your child can get wet.

Treasure hunt -- draw up a map of items to find and send them on the way.Don't make it to easy or they will be back in 5 minutes..

Yard sale day -- thats right do you know how many children that love to do this.Gives them something to do and makes a little money.Sounds crazy but give it a shot and you will see.

Plant day-- a day in the garden is good for the soul..
teach them all the names as well as letting them plant..

As parents it is our job job to teach children that to have fun it doesn't have to cost a fortune.We need to take our children back to what we did for fun.It was good for us and is good for them.We most teach our children that learning is fun before it is to late.Stop allowing T.V and amusement parks to control our kids.It is time as parents to lose excuses and get our butt off the sofa and spend time with our kids..
