He transferred it to DVD, and then said that we would have to take one of our laptops with us. He really didn't want to take this to a local dinner/dance that we go to. Therefore we headed up to Best Buy, and purchased the Dynex Portable DVD Player for $59.99.
We had seen one in Sears for the same price, but it looked a really cheap, flimsy plastic.
The Dynex 7 inch portable DVD Player is really sturdy. It comes in black, and only weighs 1.65 pounds. In the box are the DVD player, remote control with it's battery, AC to DC adapter, car adapter, A/V cable, and the Quick Setup Guide.
Upon opening the DVD player, the screen is on the top part, and below to the left is where the DVD goes in. On the right side are the on/off switch, Setup button, DVD menu, previous, next, stop, pause, up/down, fast reverse/fast forward buttons.
Before using the DVD player it should be plugged into the wall and charged up. Once fully charged it will play for up to two and a half hours.
We tried the DVD player at home, for a small screen, and video that had been recorded 18 years ago, the quality was okay. We then took it down to our friends, and played it several times for different groups. They all loved it, and were really surprised how little we had paid, for the unit.
We watched the King's Speech last night on our RCA 46 inch HD television, and loved it. So this morning, before taking it back to Blockbuster, I decided to play some of it on our new Dynex Portable Player. It was very clear, good sound, and color. Headphones can be plugged into it, so that it doesn't bother other people. They don't come with it.
It does have a car power adapter if we had children, who wanted to watch a DVD, while traveling.
The DVD player is really compact, and a great asset to our collection of electronics. We would have bought a more expensive one if it were to be used often. For the few times we will use it, this is perfect for us.
With 2 HD televisions, and 3 laptops it will rarely get played.
It comes with a 90 day limited warranty. For more information you can telephone 1-800-305-2204 or go to www.dynexproducts.com.
