Cheap and Really Works: Asda Extra Firm Hold Hairspray.

I took a bottle of my White Rain hairspray with me to England, but it wasn't enough to last me the whole vacation. Therefore, when we were in Asda, which is owned by Wal-Mart, I purchase a large can of Asda Essential Care Extra Firm Hold Hairspray.

It comes in an elegant silver metallic spray can, that is all in one. The can itself, is a silver gray, and the spray top is a slightly darker gray. It states on the can that it is a hairspray with conditioners. The size of the bottle is 300 ml.

I ran out of hairspray on my second week, and so my hair already had some White Rain hairspray in it. When I got up in the morning, the back of my hair was soft, and the French twist was down.

I turned the bottle around and read the instructions. Being English, and metric, it suggests that you spray from 25 to 30 c.m., so I figured my 6 inches away would do just fine, with this product.

I lightly sprayed the right side of my hair, and then combed my hair back, and secured it with pins. I then sprayed the left side, and lifted it over, into a twist, and pinned the back. I checked to see that my French twist was straight, and then held the can.

I gave my hair a light spray all over, and then let it dry for a few minutes. When I touched my hair it felt firm, but not hard. It still had a bounce in it. I checked for any areas that I had missed, and realized that my fringe needed more hairspray. I closed my eyes, and sprayed it.

My hair felt good, and so I was ready for the day. My hair takes quite a beating in England, with the weather, and my grand-daughters, but I have to say that my cheap Asda hairspray didn't let me down. Oh, I forget, I only paid 70 pence, $1.05 for this huge can. It was one of Asda's markdowns from 79 pence.

So I used the Asda Extra Firm Hold Hairspray, the following day too, and didn't get any build up with it.

Then it was time to wash my hair, and so I took down my hair, which is firm, and has backcombing in it. I got my brush and gentle brushed my hair. I did have a few flakes off hairspray come down on the floor, and my shoulders. That happens with all my hairsprays. I also brushed out some of my baby fine hair, while getting out the hairspray, and backcombing. Again, this happens with every brand that I use.

Once down, I washed my hair, and did all my usual routine, of putting gel in it, blow drying it, curling it with the curling iron, and then backcombing it, before putting it into the French twist.

I then sprayed my hair with the Asda hairspray, with the right side first, and continued through to spraying my hair style. After the first spray, my hair was slightly firm, but did need a second spray. This made my hair as firm as 2 or even 3 sprays of my White Rain hairspray.

My hair wasn't sticky, and had a good shine to it. If I was still living in England this would be my hairspray of choice.
