Zona Rosa - 1797 Haight Street - Zona Rosa's is a change of pace in that it lies in the Haight Ashbury district (home to the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin). These are not your regular mission street style burritos so don't expect the usual here. Rosa's burritos come in a crispy fried shell rather than normal soft flour tortilla you're used to but they taste is exquisite. For only $4.45 you can get a super burrito, your choice of grilled steak, chicken, chicken verde or carnitas with rice, refried beans, cheese and guacamole.
Green Chile Kitchen - 601 Baker St - The vegetarian lover will appreciate this place. For only $4.95 patrons will find a vegetarian burrito with pinto, refried or black beans, rice, lettuce, pico de gallo and red or green chile. Word to the wise; the service isn't all that friendly and the busier the place gets the slower the orders are to come out of the kitchen.
When you're looking for that south of the border taste you don't have to spend a fortune. Give San Francisco's mission district a try or one of these other equally satisfying burrito havens.

Post a Commentok you made me hungry now....but what happened to the 7 layer burrito from taco bell. I remember buying them for like $1.49 in North Carolina. So why would I want to spend triple for basically the same thing else where. We as a people have got to say no to the price gouging that business is sticking it to us with
