This candied sweet potatoes recipe is one of my family's favorite Thanksgiving recipes. There's usually nothing left of it after Thanksgiving dinner except a little bit of marshmallow stuck to the side of the pan!

Directions for Cheap and Simple Candied Sweet Potatoes
1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.2
In a small saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar together until brown sugar dissolves.3
In a large bowl, mash sweet potatoes. Pour butter mixture over the top, add cinnamon, salt and nutmeg, and stir with a fork until combined and slightly fluffy.4
Spread in a 9x9 baking dish and bake for 15 minutes5
Pull dish out, top evenly with marshmallows and bake for another 15 minutes, or until marshmallows are puffy and slightly browned.Tip
Some people hesitate to add salt to dishes that are supposed to be sweet, but don't skip this ingredient! A little salt actually counterbalances sweet flavors nicely.

Are you pulling my leg, James? I didn't think anyone liked these more than my husband, but maybe I was wrong... :)
