Got $5? Well, that's all it took me to go and see School of Seven Bells and Active Child at Brooklyn Bowl on Thursday. Yeah, Brooklyn Bowl isn't your typical music venue, but for $5 I was more than willing to give up some atmosphere to see one of my favorite techno-trance bands.

School of Seven Bells has some of the most underrated beats around, and on this night they didn't let me down. Their psycho-synth sounds were bumping in true form, and I was excited to see that most of the hipsters stayed away from this show (there must have been a deal on PBR somewhere).

I hadn't been to a show at Brooklyn Bowl before, and as a result I was a little skeptical. But they made sure that us audiophiles wouldn't be disappointed. The acoustics have been better but what can you expect from a bowling alley?

I was pleased that I was able to enjoy a few adult beverages without breaking the bank, so you can be sure I will be heading back there to roll a few strings, and definitely take in another show. Ziggy Marley anyone?
