In today's economic situation, it is very hard to spend money on expensive vacations. Everyone's hesitating on that planned trip across the globe while staying at a five star resort on a much flexible budget. But if you really love traveling and it is already part of your life then you're lucky that there are ways for traveling on a budget by looking for the cheapest price for the experience that you want. I have learned several tips on saving on vacation trips through experience.

When traveling on a budget it is important to keep in mind that traveling in the off-peak seasons are the cheapest ones. You can save up as much as fifty percent off air fares and accommodation costs if you to travel during low peak seasons. Another thing you should remember is that staying away from popular tourist spots can save you money. If you can go to underrated places as part of your itinerary, things can be cheaper to visit and but also nourish your cultural experiences. Another thing in saving money is to try camping out. It is not just the cheapest form of accommodation but it is also a great way to get close encounter with nature. Also try to see national Parks and Heritage listed areas most of time they are free of entrance fees. To save up on travel and accommodation expenses, try to look for special travel packages but always make sure that you check everything that are included in the package and the ones they don't include.
Another thing is to invest in a weekly travel pass where you are at and whenever you are able. Most of the developed countries have a trains and bus transportation system that you can purchase a daily, weekly or monthly passes that always get you around at discounted price compare to per ride passes. Because as tourists, expect to be lost and need multiple rides on finding a location.

One of the best but unconventional way of saving or rather earning while you're on your travel is to get a work permit to gain employment while traveling. Although not practical if you're on a vacation but working can help you offset your spending especially in places that have high standard of living such as Europe or Japan.

This one is a little bit tricky but try to look for good exchange rates on your currency. It is not easy but this could help you decide which country to travel to. It is also important to plan ahead so that you don't need to extend your intended stay in destinations that are expensive and exceeding your intended budget. If possible use your credit card because the exchange rate is better but be careful with your credit card especially on establishments that aren't internationally acclaimed.

If you're staying in a hotel try avoiding paying for extras. Instead of consuming anything from the bar, try to buy on the nearby convenience stores or liquor stores and bring it in your room. And try not to touch anything from the TV remote and do not watch in-house pay per view movies, besides you're on a vacation to travel and not to watch TV.

The world is such a big place and there are countless places to travel on even if you have a small budget. Just in Asia you can visit many good tourist friendly places such as India, China, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra and Burma. Also in South America there are also several tourist friendly places such as Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Brazil. Also in Africa there are some great budget destinations and also good tourist destinations such as Kenya, Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, etc. The fact is that there is no particular place to travel on a budget. Just do your research and be resourceful, avoid spending on unnecessary costs. If you really want to travel and your budget seems like can't meet your expectations, try to be flexible and look for some other place cheaper that you might like to experience. Besides, enjoying always depends on how you do it.
