Be Original when Choosing Gifts for Your Employees

The holidays are quickly approaching. Many employees look forward to this time of year at the office because it is a time when they receive a Christmas gift from their employer. Many employers take the simple approach and give out Christmas bonuses instead of gifts. There are others that feel cash shows no creativity and prefer to choose unique gifts for their employees. For those that give gifts other than cash bonuses, here are some unique options. Keep in mind it is best to taylor the gift toward's each employees interests.

If there are employees in your office that enjoy office happy hours and drinking beers, there are many "Beer of the month clubs" that could be a great corporate Christmas gift. This is a gift that keeps giving during the entire yeat, not just during the holidays. Depending on the package you pick, each employee will receive a six pack sampler of microbrew beers for three, six, nine or even twelve months. It is also possible to increase the six pack to a twelve pack. This will give your employees something to talk about each month as they try new beers that arrive at their home.

Another gift similar to the "Beer of the month" club, is a "BBQ Sauce of the month club". There are several of these available on the internet, most offer two bottles of BBQ sauce each month for either 3, 6, 9 or 12 months. This is a great corporate holiday gift for any employees in your office that enjoy grilling and trying new sauces or foods.

Is there a resort destination in your area? If so, consider purchasing each of your employees a gift certificate that is good for two nights at the resort destination. Many hotels will offer you a discount if you purchase these in bulk. Allow your employees to choose their own dates. For a special touch you might want to ask the hotel if you can include a bottle of wine and a gift certificate for a local restaurant in their room when they arrive.

If you work in a relatively small office and the majority of the employees in your office are fans of a local sports team, this presents a great corporate holiday gift opportunity. For the Christmas holiday purchase tickets for each employee. This could be for one game, or multiple games. The choice is up to you. It is a good idea to get each employee at least two tickets so they can bring a guest of their own choosing.

Reserve a night at a local high quality restaurant for yourself and your employees. Don't make this just a standard dinner with the office though. Instead, since this is a holiday gift, make it special. Check if the restaurant will offer a special "chef's table" experience where the chef creates a special five course meal for your employees himself, and gives them a tour of the restaurant. Along with this, have a party favor for each employee to take home such as a bottle of high quality chocolates, or a bottle of their favorite wine or liquor.

Choosing corporate holiday gifts that are unique can be a real challenge. If you use your own creativity and keep in mind the interests of your employees though it doesn't have to be all that difficult. Your employees will appreciate the thought you put into making their holiday corporate gift something special.

  • Tickets to a local sports team are a popular corporate Christmas gift.
  • Gifts that keep on giving throughout the year improve employee moral through the year.
  • A weekend getaway will show you have an interest in your employee's family happiness.
Unique corporate gifts are only limited by your imagination and the budget you set for the gifts. Bonuses are nice, but unique holiday gifts show interest in the employees.
