Cheap Valentine's Day Gift / Date Ideas Without Breaking the Bank

If Money is Tight, These Ideas Will Be a Valentine's Day Hit!

If money is tight, and let's face it, it is for most of us, spending a fortune on roses and chocolates and diamond rings for Valentine's Day is not likely an option. There are simply little things you and your lover can do to make Valentine's Day romantic, without spending much more than a little bit of time or just a few bucks at most.

Valentine's Day Idea #1: Call just to say, "I love you."

Sometime during the day, call your Valentine just to let them know how much you love them or that you are thinking of them. Later, when they least expect it, send them a text message while they are at work or out somewhere without you. Simple things to let them know they are on your mind.

Valentine's Day Idea #2: Pamper your loved one.

So maybe you can't afford a gift certificate to the spa. Why not create a spa-at-home? Start with a luxurious foot massage, and then work up to a full body massage. When you're lover is completely relaxed and thinking life couldn't possibly be any better, slip into a scented bubble bath, with scented aromatherapy candles all around and sensually wash each other's bodies and hair, taking time to relax in the steamy water.

Valentine's Day Idea #3: Romantic Date Movie Night

Get someone from your family or someone who won't charge and arm and a leg, to sit with the kids if you have them, and then stay home for the evening, curled up in a fluffy robe and slippers, in each other's arms, and feed each other popcorn while watching corny date movies all evening. Guys, don't fall asleep! When the movie's over, head to the bedroom for a little romance and intimacy.

Valentine's Day Idea #4: Dance in the Kitchen

While your honey is preparing dinner, slip up behind them, turn the music up, and ask if you can have this dance. Dancing in the kitchen or living room, when it's just the two of you, is just silly enough to be sappy and romantic. Plus, no one has to see your two left feet.

Valentine's Day Idea #5: Make a Special Dinner

A home-cooked meal is a hit almost any time, but especially so when you cook your honey's favorite foods, and fashion or shape what you can into a heart. Spell out 'I Love You' in french fries, and make a heart shaped plate of mashed potatoes. Be sure to cook all your Valentine's favorite dishes, or prepare special dishes from special occasions you two have shared together. Not only is this a romantic dinner, but you can take a trip down memory lane together too.

Valentine's Day Idea #6: Spell it out in Soap

Silly as it seems, have your Valentine wake in the morning and pad into the bathroom to find a heart and a goofy I love you written on the bathroom mirror with bar soap. Try it!

Valentine's Day Idea #7: Intimate Favors

This is particularly true for men wanting to give a gift to their women on Valentine's Day. Spend a little more time caressing her and paying special attention to her intimacy needs on what is held as the most romantic night of the year. More foreplay, more attention, and more flattery. She'll eat it up and feel loved and special.

The main thing this Valentine's Day is to remember the loved ones in your life and take the time to show them they are remembered, loved, and thought about on this day of love. Happy Valentine's Day!
