Cheap Vegan Christmas Gifts for Teen Girls

Budget Friendly Vegan Holiday Gift Ideas for Under $50

Kelly Spies
Cheap, budget friendly vegan Christmas gifts for teen girls are surprisingly easy to find in spite of the common belief that vegan products are costly. When my daughter first went vegan I thought I would never find Christmas gifts she would find acceptable. Over time I've developed a keen eye for cheap gift ideas for my vegan teen. Here are my top 5 favorites.

5. Cell Phone Pouches- Non-leather cell phone pouches are a little difficult to find in local retail stores. The best place to find this kind of Christmas gift is online. Unless you know how to crotchet and can come up with a pattern and some organic yarn. Amazon.com and Alternative Outfitters both carry Mixx brand vegan cell phone pouches. Alternative Outfitters has many more cell phone accessories than the majority of vegan sellers online so their variety is considerably better.

4. Purses &Handbags - Environmentally friendly wallets, purses and handbags make terrific Christmas gifts for vegan teen girls. You can find eco-friendly handbags at Target stores for around $20. Their handbags are made of recycled plastic, organic materials or synthetic fibers. The Xhilaration brand Recycled Tote sells for only $10.

The Chrome Bags website offers a very nice laptop sleeve made entirely of synthetic materials for only $40. It's only available in gray but it comes in 7 different sizes.

3. Green Art Supplies - There are some amazing art supplies that are made out of environmentally friendly materials on the market. Loew-Cornell came out with the Green Art line which consists of everything from sketching pencils and papers to lap desks. Loew-Cornell's Green Art is made from recycled wood, resign and paper. All the Green Art brushes are synthetic and contain no animal hair. Even the packaging is earth friendly. You can find Loew-Cornell Green Art supplies at Michael's Arts and Crafts stores or online at the Loew-Cornell website.

Another really good green art supplier is EcoArtworks online. They have some really neat things like soy crayons, plant based crayons and organic yarns.

2. Vegan Self Discovery Books - Vegan teenagers are smart teenagers. Indulge their intelligence, support their independence and guide their lifestyle choices by giving them the gift of self help vegan and vegetarian books.

A couple of good books for vegan teens are The Young Vegetarian's Companion by Jan Parr, A Teen's Guide to Going Vegetarian by Judy Krizmanic and Vegetables Rock! A Complete Guide for Teenage Vegetarians. by Stephanie Pierson.

1. Vegan Friendly Tees - There are a lot of vegan friendly tees to be found both in retail chains and online. Vegan tees typically cost between $10 and $40. A few places to find animal rights advocacy tees and vegan/vegetarian pride tees are the clearance section of the Animal Rights Stuff website, Alternative Outfitters online, The Vegan Store dot com, Shop Humanitaire dot com and Vegan Clothing Dropsoul.

With a list like this you can't go wrong when you buy Christmas gifts for your vegan teen girl. Best of all all the items on this list cost less than $50. Merry Christmas, stay environmentally friendly.
