Cheap Ways to Make Group Halloween Costumes for Teenagers

Kyra Lennon
Halloween is an exciting time for teenagers. Dressing up, collecting sweets or perhaps attending a Halloween party if they get the chance. Some teens may be at the age when they think they are too old to join in, but if all of their friends are doing it too, they will be eager to get into the Halloween spirit! This is where group Halloween costumes are a good idea.

Group Halloween costumes for teenagers can be funny, scary or just plain cool, it all depends on the style they prefer. If you don't have the cash to buy costumes from specialist fancy dress shops, you can easily make up an outfit with clothes your teen already has!

Group Halloween Costumes for Teenagers

Alice in Wonderland

Because of the recent release of the movie, Alice in Wonderland is very much an up to the minute Halloween costume idea for a group of teenagers. There are a lot of characters which can be portrayed by girls or boys. Alice in Wonderland costumes can be purchased here.

Rummaging through your teenager's wardrobe for anything that can be made into an Alice in Wonderland costume. If there is nothing suitable, browse local charity shops - it is surprising what you can find in there if you spend a little time digging!

Vamps

With Twilight being so popular, vampires are currently very hot and outfits for male and female vampires are all over the place! They are usually quite expensive though, so shop around for the best prices.

Using parts of their school uniforms for boys, and allowing your girls to wear some of their slightly more daring clothes! Boys vampire outfits need only be made up of black trousers and a white shirt, teamed with a low priced cape and some fangs. For girls, anything that is red or black (preferably a skirt and shirt or a dress) with fangs, long gloves and a touch of make-up will do the trick!

Angels and Devils

The boys can play the devils and the girls can dress as the angels, or vice versa if you can find any boys willing to dress all in white! This is a fun idea for group Halloween costumes for teenagers because it truly reflects a lot of what Halloween is all about - not to mention reflecting the personalities of many teenagers!

Using your imagination! Girls can wear a red dress, a black skirt or trousers and a red top or even a red tracksuit to be a devil. You can easily make a trident from cardboard and buy some devil horns. For an angel, girls should substitute red for white. This works much the same for boys - though they probably won't want to wear a skirt!

Zombies

There are some truly amazing zombie outfits available this year, and while they look good, they aren't easy on the bank balance, especially if you have to buy more than one.

Taking a bunch of old clothes that are crumpled, shredding them up and smearing them with fake blood and dirt. Zombie costumes are very easy to make which means they are perfect as group Halloween costumes

Favourite bands/tv show characters

This requires a lot of imgination on the part of your teenagers! The good news is, as they are friends they are very likely to have at least one band or television show they all love! Not only will they enjoy dressing up like their favourite stars, they will have great fun shopping for their outfits!

Group Halloween costumes for teenagers can be as cheap or expensive as you can afford. Although pre-made costumes look incredible, you can make them just as easily with clothing you already have in the house. Let your imagination run free and your teens will be talking about their group costumes for years to come!
