Cheap Website Promotion for Your Online Business

To do well in most online businesses, you need to promote your website effectively. Good website promotion brings new customers to your site and causes many of them to come back. However, website promotion can get expensive. Here's a couple cheap ways to promote your website.

Give your customers something free. People love receiving free stuff. Create something that provides value to your visitors. This could be a short e-book, report, article, useful software, or something similar. Freebies will remind your visitors about your website. If you create something of high value, your visitors may even pass the freebie to other internet users. Also, freebies can attract people to sign up to your email newsletter.

Start an email newsletter. Email newsletters are great promotional tools. Many visitors especially first-time visitors forget about your website. However, if you give them an opportunity to sign up to your email newsletter, you can contact them again and again and tell them about your website updates and new products or services. Just make sure to keep your newsletters focused on the visitors instead of yourself. At least 70% of your newsletter should be useful content. You can use the remaining 30% to sell your products and services. This will keep your email from coming off as spam.

Give special bonuses and bargains to repeat customers. The secret to many successful businesses is attracting repeat customers. By offering incentives to repeat customers, you will attract those many customers that love extras, bargains, and sales. What could you offer them? You could give small discounts to future orders. You could give freebies to customers that make multiple purchases.

Make the online news. If your company makes the online news, you will receive a lot of promotion for your site. Press releases are great for sharing important news about your business. Press releases are relatively inexpensive compared to the exposure you could receive. There are a couple cheap or free press release services on the internet, and emailing the release to journalists and bloggers is free.

Review something. Think of the websites, books, podcasts, products, and seminars in your industry. Pick a couple to review and post the reviews on your website. The reviews will position your website as an authority site. This promotes your website in a positive light. Many times the reviewed company will link back to your review. This link will bring targeted visitors to your website and help out your search engine rankings. Also, the cost of reviewing something is oftentimes free, because many companies give out free review copies of their product.
