The thought alone of filling up the gas tank is enough to send shudders through even the toughest of people. With the national average of gasoline hovering around four dollars per gallon it is no wonder Americans are seeking to save precious pennies on each fill-up. Those pennies add up to bigger savings, which is always a welcome phenomenon in an economy such as ours. Our quest is to find the five places in Orlando, Florida, with the cheapest gas prices. For comparison's sake, we will be using the cost of regular grade gasoline.

The first, and cheapest, stop on our list is the Citgo station on the Turnpike in the Turkey Lake Service Plaza. The station touts a low $3.75 per gallon of regular gas. The second cheapest station also happens to be a Citgo but it is located on Curry Ford Road near Dundsany Avenue. The price here is $3.77. The third cheapest station on our list is the Shell Station located on Dogtrack Road and South Ronald Reagan Boulevard. The unique thing about this station is that the price of $3.79 per gallon is for cash buyers only. If you use your credit or debit card you will be charged $3.85 per gallon, thus quickly removing it from our list, so please use cash! The Chevron on Deltona Boulevard comes in fourth, with cheapest gas prices, at $3.80 per gallon. Last but definitely not least is once again the Citgo. This station is located on East Colonial Drive near Primrose Drive and rings in at a whopping $3.81 per gallon to finish off our top five.

With Citgo currently holding three of the five cheapest gasoline stations in Orlando, Florida, the choice would seem obvious concerning where to go to fill the tank, but as we all know, at the drop of a dime, gas prices can fluctuate. The days of $20.00 fill-ups are long gone. We must now adjust our mindsets, as well as our wallets, to the more common $60.00 fill-ups; or in the case of our SUV-driving counterparts, $90.00 fill-ups. For those unfortunate drivers who must use the mid-grade or the supreme-grade gasoline, the cheap gas prices listed here are still valuable because higher grade prices are usually correlated to regular grade prices. Orlando, Florida, remains a tourist destination because of Walt Disney World, and so the cheaper gas prices are helpful in facilitating the travel to, and exploration of, this lovely city. Until next time, happy driving!
