Ever come across a game that just perplexes you? Black And Bruised PS2 is one of those. I have no idea why this game really exists. It is easily one of the most mindless, useless, time-wasting game that I've ever seen. What are half-naked women doing trying to box against 400 lbs of pure muscle? Nothing, it's just one of the stupidities of the game. Okay, maybe, just maybe there are some good things about Black And Bruised. For example, the game actually has a story behind each of the boxers and why winning is important to them and how it will effect them. The animations of facial expressions are unique to each character and the game has well developed AI that reacts to the different punches landed. But, and this is a big one, what's the point of the game? The sense of half-reality that is so important to most games is absent from this, and I don't see most of the gaming crowd actually going after this one at all. It's just hard to review a game that seems to have gotten everything right - like the graphics, the sounds and the stories, but somehow still misses the point! I mean you can be so focused on the trees that you miss the forest at times. Kinda like most of the "christians" today who do all the christian stuff but miss Christ. That's the condition of Black And Bruised. It seems to get things right, but fails to put them together properly. Play Black And Bruised if you're stuck on an island with nothing else to do...
