Cheating Death - Children Fighting for Their Life

No Child's Denied a Right to Fight

Jack Wellman
Cold hearted fright, steals the light

Throws prostrate us, all through the night

Cold steel feels, less than life

No one to hold, in setting sun

Agony, brings with it fear

No screaming in, a deafened ear

Desperation, in my sight

Dread all that had, come that night

Grip hard, hold fast, and let not go

Neither beg nor buy, from anyone

Expecting dawn, with babe in arm

All body spent, but not for him

Triumphs three, till this last hour

Life lived on, long not we know

Yet still give, even after death

For to endure, with one last breath

Living ones, of he now gone

Still live on, his swan song

This poem is dedicated to two desperate parents, enduring a night of living hell. That of a dying child, spending the night, battling a life-challenging and ultimately, like-taking cancer...only to have their only son die in their arms. Oh, the countless parents that have stayed up all night with their sick children who themselves are sick of heart for their own. The most innocent of all. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital* (the No. 1 pediatric cancer care hospital) is trying to fight and treat cancer and other childhood diseases. They fight for the most vulnerable...yours and mine. If you or someone you know needs help, visit the below link.

When you contact St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, you may not know or care that it is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. St. Jude is the first and only pediatric cancer center to be designated as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute. Founded by late entertainer Danny Thomas and based in Memphis, Tenn., St. Jude freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities around the world. St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance. What you will discover is that their policy is "No child is ever denied treatment because of the family's inability to pay." St. Jude is financially supported by ALSAC (American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities) it's fundraising organization.
