For a cost free way to sample some of San Francisco's most iconic sights, pick up a CityPASS and check out the California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, a one hour Blue & Gold Fleet Bay Cruise around the harbor, Aquarium of the Bay and a choice between the Exploratorium or the de Young Museum and Legion of Honor.

Start your tour of the city by stepping on board the Blue & Gold Fleet Bay Cruise Adventure for a one hour tour of the of the harbor that includes the infamous Pier 39 sea lions that are usually resting on K dock. Try to get their early so you can board the boat and get a good seat for taking photographs of the San Francisco skyline, Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Next stop of nearby to the Aquarium of the Bay where a CityPASS coupon can be redeemed for a general admission ticket. Those with children may want to allow for a bit of extra time as some of the interactive exhibits can be quite engaging and entertaining for those preteen and younger.

Adults and older teens can then check out the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art tickets, where the CityPASS include general museum admission. Monday and Tuesday mornings tend to be the least crowded, and free docent tours are offered four times a day.

Those with an interest in nature would enjoy exploring the Golden Gate Park and the California Academy of Sciences. CityPass tickets include general admission to all of their exhibits that include the rainforest, planetarium, natural history museum, 3D theater, aquarium and living roof.

Then science buffs can conclude one's CityPass trek with a visit to the Exploratorium where CityPASS tickets include general admission. To avoid the school groups and family outings, try to visit the museum from 3pm to 5pm. Those who are interested in history and art might want to check out the de Young Museum and Legion of Honor instead.

San Francisco CityPASS tickets include unlimited transportation on San Francisco's Muni buses & Cable Cars (sfmuni.com) for seven consecutive days beginning day of first CityPASS use. BART transportation is not included. A ingle one-way ride on a Cable Car costs $5 and a single one-way ride on a Muni bus costs $2, making the San Francisco CityPass quite the bargain.

CityPasses cost $64.00 for adults and $39.00 for children ages 5-12 and are valid from 9 days of first issue.
