Check Out the Volunteer Application at Prescott Magnet School

A business associate of mine told me that his nephew attends Prescott School, located at 1632 West Wrightwood in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood, and invited me to volunteer at the school. Prescott always welcomes volunteers throughout the year and if you're unable to give your time, they welcome your ideas on how you can generate community interest in the school or help them raise funds.

When I spoke to the office about volunteering, they directed me to the website to check out the extensive volunteer registration packet. What I wasn't expecting was how long and involved this application was. The application is about 8 pages long and asks you to submit to a background check, fingerprinting, and you are even required to have a TB test if you will be volunteering for a certain amount of hours. I certainly can understand why the volunteer application is so exhaustive.

Actually, it's a blanket application not specific to Prescott School, but it pertains to all the schools withing the Chicago Public School System. There is a link that I was able to click on and choose the school that I wanted more information on. This is the first time I've seen such an extensive volunteer application such as this one.
