I found the Samsung Jack Smart Phone, for $99.99. (This is with a two year contract - otherwise it is $349.00)
The Samsung Jack Smart Phone has a lot to recommend it. First of all Samsung is a great maker of electronics. I have had many excellent Samsung products, from TV's to DVD players.
The Samsung Jack Smart Phone has a touch screen that is a god sized 2.4 inches. The resolution of 320 x 240 is relatively sharp and clear. There may be better screens out there, but fr what I wanted the phone to do it was fine.
It took me a little while to get used to the Samsung Jack Smart Phones keyboard. It is QWERTY style, but the keys are a bit close together. I am used to typing on a standard keyboard. However the Samsung Jack Smart Phone beats trying to use the number pad on my old phone to attempt to send a text.
Some of the extras you get with the Samsung Jack Smart Phone are amazing. The camera is a 4.0 megapixel, which for a phone, is pretty impressive. I never really thought I would be using a cell phone for photography, but oddly enough I found myself whipping out the phone to take shots of my cats more often than I expected.
The Samsung Jack Smart Phone GPS is relatively good at discerning your location. I t only took about 25 seconds for it to accurately locate where I was when I tried it out.
The built in media player plays reasonably well, although the sound volume is a bit shaky. It is difficult to hear music with anyone in the room speaking. I have trouble with the idea of watching movies on such a small screen, but then I really don't like watching them on my computer monitor, and that is quite a bit larger than the screen on the Samsung Jack Smart Phone.
The battery life of the Samsung Jack Smart Phone is a bit less than I had hoped for. If all you want to do is make and receive calls, it will last for a couple of days. However if you plan to do any web surfing, or use the media player, or any of the other functions of the phone, the battery will dwindle rather quickly.
All in all, the Samsung Jack Smart Phone has turned out to have been a good purchase for me.
