I remember when I was 13 one of my stepsisters at the time loved to listen to a certain couple of guys' rendition of driving a teacher crazy in a classroom as well as a pretend conversation between two dogs roaming a neighborhood.

I still can recall the patient, then increasing octave of the "teacher's" voice on the album as she pleaded, "Class, class, class," then "Thank you" in a quiet voice as well as some of the verbalized thoughts between two imaginary dogs as they looked around for some entertainment in their canine world. The Catholic school teacher was known as "Sister Mary Elephant" and she was based on experiences in the religious facility.

The legendary stoner comedy duo Cheech & Chong is back on the road for the first time in decades and will perform at the Florida Theatre April 4.

The iconic pair will continue to keep audiences in stitches through the spring, according to one website.

Best known as one half of the hilariously irreverent, satirical, counter-culture, no-holds-barred duo Cheech and Chong, Cheech Marin is a paradox in the world of entertainment, states chicano-art-life.com/cheech.html.

"Born July 13, 1946, the son of a Los Angeles police officer, American actor/director Richard 'Cheech' Marin earned his nickname through his fondness for the Chicano food specialty cheecharone," says starpulse.com.

Chong, born in 1938 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, is the son of a truck driver and one of his daughters, Rae Dawn, went on to become a successful actress, reveals filmreference.com.

Cheech & Chong's 1978 movie "Up in Smoke" grossed $41,590,893 in box office sales, research shows. After incredible success, numerous movies and albums, a parting of the ways, and eventually a reconciliation, around 2003 the comedians began discussing the possibility of new movies or a reunion tour.

Showtime for the Jacksonville, FL show is 8 p.m. and tickets range from $41-$61. The venue is located at 128 E. Forsyth Street.

In unrelated event news, Dan Whitney, better known as Larry the Cable Guy will grace the stage also in Jacksonville, FL at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena at 7:30 p.m. April 16.

Larry's "Git-R-Done" became his first DVD in 2003, according to ticketmaster.com. Whitney himself has become somewhat of an enigma; official biographies of him describe only the fictional life of Larry the Cable Guy and he almost never speaks out of his 'Larry' voice, writes netglimse.com.

Tickets to the Florida show are $43 and more details may be obtained by calling 904-353-3309. The address for the performance is 300 A Philip Randolph Boulevard.
