I say "Cheerwine". You say, "what"? Unless you live in the south or are familiar with the south, you probably have never heard of Cheerwine. Cheerwine is a soft drink that is available in the some of the southern states of the USA. Cheerwine is a favorite among many locals and becomes a favorite amongst tourists. You might be wondering what Cheerwine tastes like. No, it does not have an alcoholic flavor or even taste remotely like wine. Cheerwine is a mix between Dr.Pepper and cherry cola. It is more of a cherry flavored Dr. Pepper. Cheerwine is available in regular flavor and diet, which is sweetened with Splenda and does not contain aspartame.

Cheerwine is bottled by the Carolina Bottling Corporation out of Salisbury, North Carolina. The headquarters for Cheerwine is in Salisbury and there are offices located in other parts of the state as well. Cheerwine products are distributed by drivers from the Cadbury Corporation. These are the same drivers that distribute 7-UP, Tahitian Treat, A & W Root Beer, Ginger Ale, Sunkist, Sun Drop and other soft drinks. Cheerwine has been being bottled since 1917 and the drink is handmade-still from the original recipe!

Cheerwine can be found in many area convenient stores and grocery stores. Cheerwine also has slushies. Because most restaurants carry Pepsi and Coca Cola products, Cheerwine is not available in dining facilities. The Nicholas Dan park in Salisbury, NC is sponsored by Cheerwine and you will find only Cheerwine drinks, slushies and other Cadbury drinks there.

If you do not live in one of the southern states that is lucky enough to have Cheerwine, you can purchase the drink on ebay. Two liters and cases are often available and can be shipped anywhere in the world. Other online beverage sellers also have Cheerwine available.
