Chef Alison Barshak and Sly Fox Prove that Beer is Just as Good as a Fine Wine with Dinner

We often read about how wines can make the dinner, but rarely are we treated to beer and food pairings. While the wine snobs of the world shudder at the idea of pairing a wonderful meal with a cold brew, today's micro-brews are every bit worthy of pairing up to your meal course by course. A delightful example of this is the Sly Fox Beer Dinner that will be held at Alison two (424 S. Bethlehem Pike, Fort Washington, PA) on May 6th from 6:30pm till 10:00pm.

Alison two is the latest creation of Super Chef Alison Barshak. Alison first made a name for herself as the opening chef of Striped Bass and the city quickly realized that she was a name that would take over the culinary world in the City of Philadelphia. She was so successful in fact that Striped Bass was named Restaurant of the Year in 1994. Unfortunately, the relationship did not work out and Alison stepped out on her own. Lucky for us, because the Philadelphia area would be far worse off culinary speaking if Alison chose not to continue on her own.

She has put together an incredible menu to match up with some of Sly Fox's tastier beverages. My favorite course on the menu is the Ricotta Gnocchi & Mussels Gratin, Smoke Tomatoes Ras El Hanout with Rt. 113 IPA. There is simply nothing like homemade Ricotta Gnocchi and if memory serves, Alison's are about as good as it gets.

The dinner itself is a 5 course meal for $56 and you will be treated to a magical creation from Chef Alison and a wonderful Sly Fox beverage that has been paired specifically to the menu. Reservations are going quickly so you will want to be sure to make them quick.
