Chef Emeril Lagasse's New Show "Emeril Green"

S Faloon
Emeril Lagasse is on a new network with a new show, "Emeril Green" and it's a winner. The new show is on the newly formed Discovery Channel's Planet Green network. In association with Whole Foods Market Emeril invites visitors to the show, "real people with real (cooking) problems". The show is actually taped in a Whole Foods Market in the Washington, D.C. area.

Chef Emeril uses his 30 plus years experience as he walks the episode's visitor through the store. First they shop together for ingredients that deal with the person's cooking or dietary problem. Emeril interacts with store customers and offers advice or at times engages in friendly chit chat. He teaches the person who is his guest about products and how to get the correct items needed when shopping. The two go into a large kitchen set right in the store and Emeril Lagasse cooks with the guest of the day. The duo creates several delicious looking dishes. At the end of the 30 minute episode Emeril announces the fact that , "todays' green plate special can be found at planetgreen.com/emerilgreen.

The show is interesting and a great teaching tool. This is Emeril at his best, doing what he loves and actually helping change the diet and cooking skills of an everyday person. He promotes his use of eco-friendly cooking while helping the viewer and the guest to get past fears involved with certain foods or cooking skills. His knowledge and expertise helps broaden the palate and food knowledge of all who participate. He proves that culinary fears are mainly due to lack of knowledge of foods never experienced or cooking techniques never tried. He is professional, serious and kind at once.

The Food Network giant has been host of Emeril Live and Essence of Emeril. Fans were shocked earlier this year when the Food Network dropped Emeril Live. Without a doubt he was one of the pioneers that brought a huge audience to the Food Network. Fine Living Network now shows the taped episodes of Emeril Live.

Emeril has been very busy since the shock that Food Network dished out and has formed a partnership with Martha Stewart and now the Planet Green network. Anyone that enjoys watching Emeril, loves to cook, desires to have a 'green' kitchen or has culinary problems of their own should check out this new show.
