Chelsea Clinton Wedding Planner: Chelsea Desired High Quality Wedding

Details of Chelsea Clinton's Wedding Are Still Largely a Secret

Meg G.
Chelsea Clinton's wedding planner, Brian Rafanelli, knows the secrets of Chelsea's big day. The wedding planner chosen by Chelsea Clinton has also done fundraising events for her mother, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Despite the knowledge of everything that everyone wants to know right now, Rafanelli has offered little in terms of the details of the wedding of the century.

Set in Rhinebeck New York at the Astor Courts exclusive manor, Chelsea Clinton's wedding took place on July 31, 2010. The wedding was rumored to have $15,000 port-a-potty rentals, $150 invitations, and other crazy price tags on each and every individual detail.

That was not the case, as Chelsea Clinton's wedding planner dished very little details, other than to say that this is the wedding that the Clinton's wanted Chelsea to have, and that a "high quality" wedding didn't necessarily mean "the most expensive" wedding.

Here are a couple details about the wedding that I have been able to find out.

Chelsea wore a dress by Vera Wang, who attended the ceremony and felt "honored" to design a gown for the former first daughter. There was a widespread debate over whether she would were Vera or Oscar de la Renta, but as it turns out - Chelsea wore Vera, Hillary Oscar de la Renta.

Chelsea's cake was gluten free, and came from La Tulipe Pattisserie. Her menu is still super-secret, and there's speculation that it will never be revealed. The wedding planner made his sub contractors sign iron clad confidentiality agreements, so unless it's okay with the bride herself - the details of the eats won't be available for us to mull over.

Up until recently, the venue of the wedding was secret. Guests received invitations 12 weeks prior to the event, but received, via email, directions to the celebration the Monday before the wedding. Astor Courts met the stringent security requirements, and was within Chelsea's desires to have a wedding in New York.

Guest lists weren't leaked, either. Obama didn't go - he wasn't invited. There were star gazers present in Rhinebeck trying to see if they could spot a celebrity in this typically sleepy New York town.

Although I wish more details of the ceremony were available, I understand Chelsea Clinton's desire for privacy. Saturday was her day, and now she's on her honeymoon (although we don't know where) with the love of her life, Wall Street banker Marc Mezvinsky.

I was amazed that they kept it under a million dollars. [at least that is what they said on HLN]
