Chelsea Handler's Real Motivation for Bashing Angelina Jolie (Video Link)

Chelsea Handler's recent tyrannical and scathing remarks about Angelina Jolie are still continuing according to several tabloid reports. Handler first made news this past weekend after her Friday night comedy act in Newark, NJ where Angelina Jolie was the butt of her brutal jokes (or rather, personal observations).

Specifically, Handler said that Jolie was a home-wrecker and further, that Brad Pitt's significant other doesn't have any female friends because she's a "c---."

And then today (December 9) People reported that Handler told Katie Couric that she "wasn't a fan" of Jolie's. Couric conducted an interview of Handler for the January issue of Glamour.

Additionally, Handler stated in the Glamour interview, "She just doesn't come off to me as a sincere woman. She seems like a woman that you'd really want to avoid."

Yet, why did Chelsea Handler go on a witch hunt with Angelina Jolie in her sites? Could it have anything to do with the fact that Handler just got back from vacation with one of her best friends, Jennifer Aniston? More specifically, is it because Jen Aniston isn't quite over Brad Pitt and Handler wants to lift her friend at the expense of Angelina Jolie?

Popeater reported that Handler and Aniston vacationed together in Mexico during Thanksgiving along with some other girlfriends. Popeater also said that Jen had arranged and paid for the trip. Obviously the two women bonded during the trip.

While Handler has made some similarly painful remarks about Jolie before her friendship with Aniston took off, it seems her remarks are more cutting and biting than ever.

Concurrently, as Handler attempts to tear Jolie's character apart, her love and admiration for Aniston is swelling. In the Glamour interview, Handler said that Aniston is one of the few women who make her laugh and, "She sends me really funny e-mails."

Handler also stated that Aniston is "hilarious and irreverent."

Perhaps then Handler's motivation to attack Jolie is not to solicit laughs and adoration, the very thing she does to make a living, but instead a kind of sophomoric attempt to defend and lift up her friend Jennifer Aniston.

If that is indeed the case, then Handler's humor falls short and flat no matter how shocking and vulgar it is.
