Chelsea King Found: Authorities Found Body Belonging to King. Authorities have been searching high and low for missing 17 year old Chelsea King. Search efforts included multiple efforts by thousands of nearby residents anxious to get the honor student back to her parents.

Unfortunately a discovery was made yesterday in connection with the case. What is believed to be Chelsea King's lifeless body was found in a shallow grave near a body of water around the area she was last seen alive.

A positive identification hasn't been made on the body. However, authorities are fairly certain that it's her. A positive ID should be ready sometime in the next day or so. There will also likely be an autopsy performed, although it is unlikely that those official results will be released any time soon.

John Albert Gardner, III was arrested in connection with the case. Authorities claim they have evidence that connects him with King, but would not reveal what evidence existed. Chelsea's mother indicated that her daughter's underwear was found. It is said that the suspect refused to co-operate with authorities during their investigation.

The worst part about the suspect is that he is a registered sex offender and was plead guilty to lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, and was sentenced to 5 years behind bars. He is also believed to be a person of interest in the disappearance of Amber DuBois, a 14 year old that went missing around this time last year.

Furthermore, a woman identified Gardner in a lineup after being attacked in December. near the same spot that the body was found.

Many feel that Gardner shouldn't have been given such a light sentence on his previous conviction. They feel that he should still be behind bars.

The search for the missing teenager started on February 25, when she failed to return home after dark after going for a routine run at a nearby park. When police were alerted, they did a search on her phone and found it inside her locked BMW sedan, along with her iPod.

Life is precious, and so are our children. Any time a story like this comes out, it breaks the hearts of millions of Americans. All over the country, people have been following the Chelsea King case hoping that the investigation would lead to the retrieval of this beautiful girl. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that a happy ending is in order for this story.
