The Sad News of Chelsea King's Body Reportedly Being Found Has Hit the Internet

Chelsea King's body was found in Rancho Bernardo Community Park Tuesday night. The reported discovery of Chelsea King's body being found brings this very tragic case to a saddening end after several days of searches for the missing 17-year-old. King went missing on Thursday after last being seen at her high school. It was reported on Friday that King had gone for a run after school as part of her training as a long-distance runner, and that her locked car was found in the parking lot of Rancho Bernardo Community Park. Her cell phone was found inside the car, and the fear that she had been abducted turned into a frantic search for King.

According to CNN, the remains of a young woman were found in a shallow grave along the shoreline of a tributary within the park where she was reported missing. Authorities believe this to be the body of Chelsea King, but they are holding off making an official announcement on the case until Wednesday. It is expected that an announcement will be made on Wednesday after a positive identification can be made, so as of this time it has not yet been confirmed that this is King. The likelihood that this is King though, has led authorities to end their search for the missing teen, so that could be a hint that they already know that this is indeed King.

There was an arrest in the Chelsea King case on Sunday, when 30-year-old John Albert Gardner III was arrested in connection with her disappearance. He is currently being held in the San Diego Central Jail on charges of rape and first-degree murder. These charges point to there being some kind of evidence in the hands of authorities that Gardner had a direct tie to this case, and it probably also means that there will be announcements soon on what the authorities feel took place. No matter how you look at this case though, it has had an extremely sad outcome that is absolutely heartbreaking. The hope that Chelsea would be found safe has unfortunately also come to an end.
