Cheryl Tiegs at 62: Active and Involved
Staying active and engaged over the course of one's lifetime is important to staying young. Over the years, Cheryl has become an environmentalist, appearing in the HGTV and Planet Green series, Living with Ed. This series focused on the carbon footprint we leave behind, featuring her activist friend, Ed Begley Jr. She actually invited him to conduct an energy audit on her Bel Air Estate!
Being a green living advocate, In September 2007, Cheryl forged a business relationship with Cambria, a natural stone surface. She remodeled her Bel Air Kitchen, replacing the high maintenance tile and counter surfaces with this natural quartz, eliminating the need for the harsh chemicals that were required to maintain the less environmentally-friendly products.
Cheryl Tiegs, Still Super-model Beautiful!
It is obvious that Ms. Tiegs lives an active life with social consciousness and health in mind, but to all of us she will always be a beautiful Supermodel! Recently, Cheryl Tiegs was a guest of the Dr. Oz Show, along with three other supermodels, to discuss their anti-aging secrets. Watching her on the show, it was truly amazing to realize that this woman is 62! Cheryl represents the beautiful, healthy woman that should be the goal of every girl! Here's how she does it:
Skin - Cheryl disclosed on Dr. Oz's show that in her teens, she suffered from acne. As written on the Dr. Oz website, she is now, "religiously using a fragrance-free basic cleanser twice a day, along with applying eye cream and moisturizer." She also uses sunscreen on her face and hands daily. According to the Orange County Register, aside from a few Botox injections that she stopped due to her dislike for needles, she has adamantly denied having any plastic surgery.
Hair - To lubricate her dry hair, Cheryl uses sweet almond oil, explaining that it's high-fat content also adds shine. Sweet almond oil can be found as an ingredient in shampoos and conditioners. There are many online sources that sell Sweet Almond oil, as well as health food outlets and retailers like Wal-Mart and Ulta.
Diet - The Pittsburgh Post-gazette.com, article, "Supermodel Cheryl Tiegs cooks" by Gretchen McKay, tells us that Ms. Tiegs has nearly eliminated sugar from her diet over the years and that "the super-model-turned-environmentalist also forgoes anything white, such as bread and pasta." She admits in this article that salty snacks are her downfall, and she tries to stay away from that first bite!
However, there is one carbohydrate that this Supermodel endorses: Ezekiel Bread!. On the Dr. Oz show, Cheryl outlined her typical daily diet as a slice or two of this grain-sprouted bread in the morning, and protein and vegetables for the rest of her meals for the day.
Exercise - At 62, Cheryl enjoys yoga, hiking and backpacking, and she wears a pedometer daily, moving until she has walked 10,000 steps for the day! Is it any wonder she possesses such a fit, womanly body?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, of course, but most of this lady's beholders would have to admit that Cheryl Tiegs is like a piece of fine art. It doesn't take a genius to realize that a healthy lifestyle will help a beautiful young girl mature into a beautiful woman, and Cheryl exemplifies this fact! Thank you, Cheryl Tiegs, for giving all women over forty hope for a gorgeous future, and showing us how beautiful 62 can look!

Post a CommentDid you see her on Oprah today (Feb 4, 2011)?? She looked horrible! She clearly had too much filler pumped into her face and lip injections. She doesn't look healthy at all! She is not growing old gracefully.
good for Cheryl
