Chevy's Mexican Restaurant in Gaithersburg, Maryland: A Taste of Mexico

Amanda Lay
I love to go out to eat with friends! Like most people who are on a fixed income, I'm always keeping my eyes open for coupons or other good deals. Recently, my friend had a, "Buy One, Get One Free," coupon for two for dinner at, "Chevy's Mexican Restaurant" in Gaithersburg, Maryland. We were excited about trying something new, so we paid Chevy's a visit. A family-friendly restaurant, "Chevy's Mexican Restaurant" is conveniently located just minutes from I-270!

What an excellent choice it was! "Chevy's Mexican Restaurant" was the most authentic Mexican dining experience I have had in over seven years! The atmosphere of the restaurant made me feel as though I really was enjoying dinner with her in Mexico. The restaurant was brightly colored. Adding to the lively ambiance, Spanish guitar music filled the air! Our server was attentive to our needs, courteous and respectful. We thought that he earned every bit of the twenty percent tip that we gave him.

I have always been a very health conscious person, but I am even more so now since turning thirty last month. Despite my being a proud child of the bygone era when we asked, "Where's The Beef?" I am trying my best to cut back on the amount of beef that I eat. For my entrée, I ordered a Chicken Soft Taco, Mexican Rice, and Blackbeans! The Chicken Soft Taco was in a soft taco shell filled with chicken, lettuce, fresh-diced tomatoes, and topped with freshly-grated cheddar cheese. Sour cream was available upon request, and mine was served on the side. My Chicken Soft Taco was so delicious that I did not even miss the beef! The Mexican Rice added a kick of spice to my delicious dinner, and was complemented nicely by the Blackbeans. The Blackbeans were a filling and satisfying finish to my fantastic dinner!

My friend has always been somewhat more adventurous than I am. Not surprisingly, her entrée for dinner was no exception! For her main entrée, my friend had a Grilled Steak Enchilada, Mexican Rice and Refried Beans. I was too afraid to dine on the wild side with my friend, but maybe I will splurge next time. After all, my friend loved her dinner! The next time that you are looking for authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price, I recommend, "Chevy's Mexican Restaurant." You may never eat Mexican food anywhere else again!
