Lie down, if you can, for even a few minutes. You may find that a few minutes of being quiet and calm will settle your stomach. This is helpful for both children and adults.

Drink a glass of plain water or add lemon juice. It is extremely important to keep your body hydrated when your stomach is upset. Orange juice works wonders for some people. The chemicals of the juice can help settle your stomach.

Use health food type or fresh aloe vera juice.

Eat an apple - the pectin helps to stimulate elimination of body waste. If that doesn't sound good, try eating small pieces at a time.

Plain toast can help calm a stomach. Maybe because it's a comfort food and that's what mom gave us.

Tea - hot or cold - is accessible and helpful.

Mix fresh fruit, orange juice, yogurt and some crushed ice to soothe and calm stomachs.

If your stomach continues to bother you, call your doctor as you may need additional care or testing. Do not just ignore the situation.

None of these remedies are magic, but they will probably give you some relief if you have just a common stomach upset. They should help you be able to sleep or carry on during your day.
