Chewy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Oatmeal raisin cookies are an old-fashioned, delicious treat that everyone seems to love. This recipe for Chewy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies makes about 5 dozen moist and yummy cookies.

Ingredients:

1 1/4 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3/4 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups quick-cooking oatmeal
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup raisins

Preheat oven to 375F. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt and set aside. In a large bowl cream butter. Gradually add in the sugar and brown sugar and cream well. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat well. Gradually blend in the sifted dry ingredients. Stir in the oatmeal, nuts and raisins. Drop the dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto nonstick baking sheets. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Store cool cookies in a tightly covered container.
