Jennifer S
Every bride wants the wedding of their dreams, but finding room in the budget to fulfill those dreams can be difficult. These centerpieces will have the guests oohing and ahhing. You'll be smiling because each one cost you less than five dollars. These instructions will be for a single centerpiece. You'll need to adjust the required materials based on the number of tables you'll be decorating.

Materials:
1 medium terra cotta pot
3 glass votive holders
5 ivory taper candles
3 votives
silver metallic paint
1 foam paint brush
1 bag of sand
1 roll of duct tape
1 spool of ribbon to coordinate with your colors

Where to shop: Most of the materials can be purchased at your local home improvement store and craft supply store. IKEA is a great resource for candles and votive holders.

Assembly: Use the foam paint brush to apply silver paint around the top rim of the terra cotta pot and let dry. Use a piece of duct tape to tape over the hole in the bottom of the pot from the inside. Fill the pot with sand leaving about 3 inches of space between the top of the sand and the top of the pot. Put about an inch of sand in each of the votive holders. Press the taper candles into the sand in the pot allowing the candles to stand at different heights. Press the votives down into the sand in the votive holders. Use the ribbon to tie a simple bow beneath the silver painted pot rim.

Presentation: On the day of the event place the pot in the center of the table and surround it with the 3 votives. If you have any extra flowers, tuck a couple of buds into the pot. When it is time for the reception, light the candles and get ready for the warm glow of an understated elegance.
