Chic Wedding Invitations for Spring 2011

Whether you are planning a large formal wedding or a small do-it-yourself ceremony, invitations for 2011 need to have a personal touch. In a world of social networking where everyone is your friend, you need to be sure those who come to your wedding feel special about your desire to have him or her there. The last thing you want to do is invite via a text message or worse yet, a tweet! For friends and family of the bride and groom, invitations are a treasured memento suitable for the scrapbook.

One way to make your wedding stand apart is to form a unique logo to commemorate the event. Include the logo on your wedding invitations and later on the party favors at your wedding reception. Everyone will be very "in-the-know" about your special day. Other announcements, or special gifts can all be marked with the symbol of your marriage.

You can key the guests in on the style of the wedding by adding pinstripes to the cards if you are going for a preppy look, flower or foliage motifs for garden or outdoor weddings, jeweled accents in white for a formal wedding or in colors if going glam. However, be sure to stay true to the personal tastes of the bride and groom. An over the top card for a couple with conservative tastes may invite gifts that don't suit the newlyweds.

For the couture crowd, textured paper is all the rage. These chic invitations have as much beauty to the eye as they do the touch. Your guests will love receiving such a special invitation.

Destination weddings are becoming even more popular and spring 2011 will be no different. To get your guests in the travel mood, design your invitation to look like a travel brochure to the destination of your wedding. The brochure will invite them and get them in the mood for the fun they'll have at the wedding's locale.

Postcard invitations are also a popular trend that will continue into 2011. These invitations are easy to pin up on the refrigerator with a magnet, contain all the pertinent information in a compact (and economical) format, all while having space to write a little personalized message just from you.

Whatever type of wedding invitation you decide on for your spring 2011 wedding, make sure you are happy with it. Following trends or expectations that are not what makes you happy will always fall flat. If you are as excited about the invitations as you are about your wedding dress, tuxedo, or wedding cake, your guests will feel it the moment they see them.
