The Music Box

The music box theater is the place in Chicago-Land to view independent and foreign films. Located at 3733 North Southport Avenue, the theater is housed in a building dating back to the 1920's. The cost of general admission is $9.25, although they offer a discount card which will save you $2.65 per admission. Hours vary depending on show schedule and the theater is available for rental. If you are looking to view a foreign or independent film, The Music Box is your best bet.

Landmark's Century Centre Theater

Touted by many as one of Chicago's best movie theaters, the Landmark is located in the Century Shopping Center at 2828 North Clark Street. Its nearest cross road is Diversey. Among the amenities offered by the Landmark are stadium seating and gourmet treats. Focusing mainly on art-house release, tickets prices are $10, although discounts are available for seniors, students and off hour viewing.

Logan Theater

Housed in an old style theater building, this quaint movie theater has a good sound system and four old-style screening rooms. Located at 2646 North Milwaukee Avenue, the Logan Theater is ideally suited for the movie buff who likes the feel of old school theater. With second run movies, the admission price of $6.00 is more than reasonable.

Gene Siskel Film Center

A tribute to Gene Siskel, this Chicago theater show primarily independent films. Beautifully appointed, the theater is located at 164 North State Street. Ticket prices of $9.25 are average for independent films. Hours vary with showings.

Brew and View at Vics

The name says it all, a theater that serves beer - how many movie theaters can say that? Second run films, seating for up to 1000 and bar style food all contribute to the brew and view experience. Tickets are very reasonable - a double feature will cost you $5.00. Located at 3145 North Sheffield in Chicago, show times are 7:30 and 9:30 daily.
