Chicago Bear Lance Briggs packed The Comic Vault located at 1530 West Montrose Avenue in Chicago's Ravenswood neighborhood. The comic book drive was held on Saturday, December 11, 2010, and generated dozens of boxes of donated comic books. The boxes were stored in the back portion of the store and overflow donations had to be kept next door at the Fuss Salon. Some comic book donations came from former and current collectors. Lance Briggs is a tried and true comics books fan as he has been reading them since he was a small child of 6 or 7 years old. Some of his favorites included Green Lantern and Silver Surfer.

The Saturday event attracted scores of comic book collectors, Lance Briggs fans, paparazzi and curiosity seekers. Briggs4Kids is a nonprofit that was founded by Lance Briggs that helps underprivileged kids and some of the donations from the comic books will be donated to the foundation. Other comic books that have been donated will be redistributed to children through Chicago's Housing Authority and will also be sent to some U.S. troops serving overseas.
