Chicago Bears' 2011 Game-By-Game Schedule

What About Green Bay?

Gary Davis
It is an axiom that you save the best until last and I saved the Chicago Bears to be the last team that I'm going to write about with respect to the 2011 schedules for the NFL. Of course, there are a lot of question marks about the 2011 season right now but in my "heart of hearts" I have to believe that the players and owners, mostly the players, aren't dumb enough to shoot the goose that lays the golden eggs, the fans, in the head by alienating them with a strike or some other drawn out contentious behavior. And it is the actions of the Chicago Bears organization that leads me to believe they are going to do well in 2011. Note I will fall short of saying "Super Bowl winner;" I am saying they are going to have a stellar regular season. How will the Chicago Bears do in 2011?

The Chicago Bears against the NFC North:

I think, much as the Bears, that the NFC North is going to be tough. I think the Bears will split with the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions and sweep the Minnesota Vikings. That will give them a 4-2 division record. It is a good record, but it is worse than 2010.

The Chicago Bears against nondivisional opponents on the road:

The Bears will have to pack and go on the road to New Orleans, Oakland, Denver, Philadelphia and Tampa Bay. The only team they are going to lose to on the road will be a hungry Saints team. They will defeat the Eagles, Bucs, Broncos and Raiders for a 4-1 record.

The Chicago Bears against nondivisional teams at home:

The Bears will receive the Falcons, Panthers, Seahawks, Chiefs and Chargers. Now I can say that I think that the Saints will be the only nondivisional team the Bears will lose to. They will be 8-0 at home and the only teams they will lose to while going 5-3 on the road will be the Saints, Lions and Packers.

So I have the Chicago Bears going 13-3. Once again I didn't say Super Bowl winner. However, I do have both wild cards coming out of the NFC North in Green Bay and Detroit. Green Bay has already proven it does not need to win the division to win the Super Bowl.

We'll have to wait and see. Hopefully there will be a season.
