Bourbonnais, IL 60914
United States of America
Fifty minutes south of Chicago off I-57, Bourbonnais made national news on March 15, 1999, when a train derailed there. Now Bourbonnais, Illinois, is known as The Home of the Bears, and 2010 is Olivet Nazarene University's ninth consecutive year of hosting The Chicago Bears Training Camp. Bourbonnais residents anticipate not only the return of the Chicago Bears, but also the return of Chicago Bears fans.
As of this date, the Chicago Bears players report for duty on July 29, 2010, and their first training camp practice will be held Friday, July 30 at Olivet Nazarene University (Rt. 45 & Rt. 102). Signs are always posted near the exits of I-57 to get Chicago Bears fans to their destination.
But who is going to feed those hungry-as-Bears fans, and what does Bourbonnais have to offer in the form of eateries?
Who better to ask than the Bourbonnais residents themselves? After interviewing several Bourbonnais residents for a list of their favorite eat-in and fast food restaurants, I've compiled a list of the most commonly mentioned establishments. Listed below are their favorite spots. If restaurants have a web presence, clicking their name will take you directly to their web site.

Post a CommentMiMi's Maxwell Street offers authentic flavors from Chicago's Maxwell Street. Located at 178 E North Street right at the tracks. Bears fans and Chicago natives have to come by and try the Maxwell Polish. It is fabulous! They also serve burgers, hot dogs, pork chop and chicken sandwiches. They are open from 11-6pm Monday-Friday. http://blogs.i57life.com/dining/2010/06/27/mimis-maxwell-street-now-open/

You did an excellent job on this, Theresa! Such a lot of great places to grab a bite to eat! Very nice!
Great resource! My ex lived in Bourbonnais for a couple of years. He was in management at K's Merchandise in Bradley before they went out of business. Anyway, he took our kids to the Bears Training Camp each year. They loved it, and my daughter still has her pink jersey. These places sound great. Thanks!
Yummmm. Wish I were close enough to try some of these places.
A cup of frozen yogurt sounds good right now. :-)
What a cool word! - Bourbonnais - That's a new one to me.
Great work, Theresa!!!
