Chicago Bears Vs Green Bay Packers: Las Vegas Line & Pick Against the Spread

Chicago Bears Look to Spoil Green Bay Packers NFL Playoff Hopes

Todd Jacobs
The Chicago Bears head up to Green Bay to take on their NFC North rivals the Green Bay Packers January 2nd in a game with NFL Playoffs implications. I was said earlier the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers are limping towards the NFL Playoffs and if they make it there is a danger of being one and done. Rodgers health is the key and if he can staff away from tough hits hecan lead this team to the NFL Playoffs.

Chicago Bears Defense vs Green Bay Packers Offense

Brian Urlacher and the Chicago Bears defense has been among the top five NFL defenses this season and with the exception of their debacle against the New England Patriots they have shut down some of the best quarterbacks in the NFL including Michael Vick.

Julius Peppers has been a major factor on this defense and even though his numbers may not reflect his success, Peppers has freed up Urlacher and Lance Briggs to do damage this season. The Chicago Bears are allowing 220 yards through the air and they are stopping their opponents rushing attacks. The Chicago Bears are giving up just 89 yards per game on the ground.

Aaron Rodgers reign as the top NFL quarterback heading into this season was short lived. Rodgers offensive line was terrible in the beginning of the season and the hits added up with Rodgers. He suffered two concussions this season and one more will end his 2010 NFL season. He will be tested with the Chicago Bears defense.

The Green Bay Packers are an offensive juggernaut even with the loss of key offensive players this season. Rodgers still has many weapons to choose from in the receiving department. Greg Jennings and Donald Driver are perfect one-two punch with Jennings handling the deep ball and Driver controlling the work across the middle. The Green Bay Packers offense has a slight edge over the Chicago Bears defense on Lambeau Field.

Chicago Bears Offense vs Green Bay Packers Defense

Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears offense held it together this season and Cutler did well under the pressure of extreme scrutiny in Chicago. Cutler has managed this team well but the lack of a running attack will destroy them in the NFL Playoffs. This game can be considered the first NFL Playoff game if Green Bay is still in the hunt.

The Green Bay Packers defense has been underrated this season. They have struggled at times but they also have a road shutout against the New York Jets this season. Clay Mathews has been a major factor on games in which he has played but he must remain healthy. Mathews gives the defensive line an edge coming off the ball and when he drops back in coverage he is always a threat to pick off a pass. The Green Bay Packers defense has the edge over the Chicago Bears offense.
