IS THERE MORE TO THIS? After an abrupt closing of a popular beach on Memorial Day in Chicago, now comes word that the Independence Day firework displays are off.
Oh, there will be the usual Navy Piers shows, but they last for 15-minutes, but there will be one on July 4.
No, this is the huge spectacular that draws hundreds of thousands to the city.
Come to think of it, that was the main reason the beach was closed. Too many people plus add in the heat and it was enough for the shutdown. And the new mayor, Rahm Emanuel, agreed with the decision.
We must note that last year the show was split into three separate shows, much to the dismay of many. Now, it's off - - completely.
The reason given was simple; the financial situation. The underbelly of the reason may also be the security nightmares and the deluge of people rushing the lake front and other areas.
With the smaller show still on at Navy Pier, one can only wonder if thousands will still flock to the lake front tourist attraction, thus causing more trouble, because of the crowd size.
And, when talking to others about the closure of the beach on a hot day, the subject of violence and gangs come up.
Is there more to the issue here?

Post a CommentIt is IMPOSSIBLE to ignore the fact that nearly every American city that is bankrupt is in a BLUE STATE run by DEMOCRATS.
What is so shocking about this story is that the devilish democrats operate on a daily basis and and in perpetuity in the most corrupt way and it is business as usual.
There are countless ways the urban thugocrats could trim their budgets of excess graft, waste, mismanagement and patronage but when push comes to shove the ONE place they find the "courage and motivation" to cut the budget is the ONE single day that celebrates our independence from the British thugs who the democrats have clearly replaced.
The savings that comes from the canceling of the singular one day event of Independence Day fireworks is miniscule when compared to the places where they waste taxpayer dollars every single day. No wonder good people are leaving the rust belt in massive numbers. I just hope the demonic and intrinsically corrupt democrat politicians don
