Chicago offers a multitude of opportunities to see the best in live concerts for free. The variety of entertainment is wide and unsurpassed. I have recently obtained free tickets to see Bizet's Djamileh 10th Annual Summer Opera at the Chicago Cultural Center located at 77 E Washington in Chicago. Admission is Free but tickets are required to attend. The Chicago Cultural Center is not only a unique place for Chicagoans to plan a wedding but a one stop entertainment myriad for eclectic musical tastes. You can even enjoy a concert during your lunch break Mondays through Fridays at 12:15pm. I have enjoyed hearing fantastic jazz, rock and blues. I am still waiting to catch a flamenco so I can tap and snap on the sidewalk. The Chicago Cultural Center website lists the calendar of concerts and events. A link to their website is provided below.

The Chicago Park district offers a variety of concerts in the park. You can get in for free. Enjoy a seat on the lawn and gaze up at the sky and enjoy reggae latin, oldies, blues or rock music. There are events for all musical tastes that offer fun for the entire family. It is fun to take the kids and just dance and have fun with your friends and neighbors. With more than 80 concerts to choose from you can't go wrong. The website link provided below contains detailed information and locations for their 2008 concert series.

If you love world music, theatre and dance then you will want to check out the many free concerts offered at Millenium Park.
