Chicago Will Welcome the New Year in with a BANG!

Anne Bowen
The Windy City is famous for its fireworks displays and they aren't just for Independence Day anymore. Chicagoans will have a chance to see the old year out and welcome the new one in with a BANG, thanks to two simultaneous displays.

A Double Header

Chicago's Fireworks Spectacular over Monroe Harbor will be produced by Melrose Pyrotechnics and choreographed to an entertaining program of musical genres destined to appeal to the varied group of onlookers gathered near Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park. Meanwhile, another display at Navy Pier will begin simultaneously and be choreographed to the same music. Admission to both events is free and lift-off is scheduled for 11:40 p.m. on December 31st. (Fireworks will continue for another 20 minutes after Midnight.)

You Don't Have to be a Face in the Crowd.

Cool info. When we have festivals, I live close enough to downtown that I hear fireworks outside if we have them. That's fun.

This all sounds festive, but afraid I might fall asleep. Thanks for sharing.
