Chicago's Best After Christmas Bargains & Sales

Roughly 10% of November-December holiday sales happen the week after Christmas according to the National Retail Federation. Want to get the best of the best after Christmas sales in the Windy City?

Deep discounts go upscale at Macy's 'After Christmas' sale starting December 26 for three days. Last year doors opened at 7am and Macys gave out $10 gift cards that were good for any purchase in the Juniors or Young Mens departments. Also look for coupons in their fliers - last year good for $10.00 off a $25.00 purchase. Last year everything on clearance was marked down an additional 40% until 1 p.m. Here's a small sample from the sale.

Sak's 5th Ave.'s After Christmas Sale starts December 26 and will lure high end shoppers with 40-60% off selected merchandise and 60% off selected already reduced merchandise. Stores open at 8 a.m..

If you can hold off until after Christmas, Club Monaco with four Chicagoland locations will be putting all of their cashmere-and that's a lot of cashmere- sweaters, scarves, and everything else cashmere on sale. Reportedly disappointed with their Christmas sales The Sharper Image is planning to gain sales ground with a 72 hour blowout sale. The sale actually started on December 21st with savings up to 70%. Nine Chicagoland locations. All sale items are 'while supplies last'. Here's two examples from their website:

And here's some year end super sales you can get in on even if you can't make it to Chicagoland. Lots of Intel powered Dell notebooks and desktops go on sale online at Dells Computers starting Christmas day 2007 for 48 hours of hot deals. Look for big sales from these onlne retailers also. These merchants slashed prices at year's end last year and can be expected to do it again this year.
