Chicago's Home Run Inn Frozen Sausage Pizza Review
One of the main reasons why I like Home Run Inn's pizzas so much is because they are all natural, unlike a lot of frozen pizzas who have a ton of artificial ingredients.
The Classic Sausage Pizza simply contains a crust made from wheat flour, water, corn oil, yeast and salt. The mozzarella cheese contains pasteurized part skim milk, cheese cultures, salt and enzymes. The sausage contains pork, salt, spices, and flavoring, and the sauce is made from a tomato puree, water, oregano, salt, and black pepper.

Chicago's Home Run Inn Frozen Sausage Pizza Review
I usually buy this pizza when I don't feel up to cooking dinner or if I'm in a rush, so I rarely bake it in the oven because it takes about 20 minutes. I usually just heat it in the microwave for about 4 and ½ minutes. The pizza comes with a silver browning disk that gets the crust crispy in the microwave, while it keeps the cheese gooey. I like my pizza this way, but for those who prefer their cheese and crust harder use the oven.
Taste of
Chicago's Home Run Inn Frozen Sausage Pizza Review
Some people don't like Home Run Inn's Pizza because of the crust, but it's one of my favorite things about the pizza. Most pizza crusts are made from white flour and have a doughy, gummy, tasteless taste.
But this golden crust is crispy, firm and filling. And it has a good flavor, it has always tasted a bit like corn bread to me which, now, I realize, is because of the corn oil, which must be very potent. To me it adds to the pizza's flavor.
I also like the flavor of the sauce, it's sweet and tangy and it works perfectly with the gooey mozzarella, and the sausage which has a delicious spicy flavor.
In the End...
I love Home Run Inn's Classic Sausage Pizza, it's the perfect warm comfort food for a frigid winter, especially in Chicago, I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.

I love Home Run Inn frozen pizza--their crust is the best. Bakes up crispy, never soggy, and provides a great contrast to the gooey cheese. After you remove it from the oven, place it on a wire rack to preserve the crispiness while it cools to a temperature that doesn't burn the roof of your mouth. That is the challenge...waiting for it to cool!
