Chicago's Panda Express Chinese Restaurant Review

Adrianna Henry
Panda Express has many different menu options. They serve different types of Chinese food such as orange chicken, chicken with mushrooms, mandarin chicken, kung pao chicken, beef and broccoli and much more. They add a new menu item monthly. Also, along with your entrée you can select your choice of low mein noodles or fried/white rice. I tend to go for half low mein noodles and half fried rice. When you walk into Panda, it is cafeteria style. You walk up, order your food, gather your selections, and pay the cashier. Then you move over and grab your drink. It's meant to be a fast-food selection for Chinese dishes. When you walk in, it feels like you are in an upscale restaurant. They have many contemporary fixtures throughout the restaurant. It is kept extremely clean and there is tons of space.

Now for the food review: Panda has some great choices. Let's face the facts though. Panda is a fast-food restaurant. The selections they have are not all that healthy, but they sure do taste great. Their food tends to be greasy and deep fried. You can get a great meal here for about $6-9 per person and it will be pretty filling. I would not recommend dining here regularly as their menu choices are not the healthiest. If you are in the mood for some quick, great, Chinese food, pop in and try out Panda. They offer a cheap, fast lunch that includes some great Chinese dishes. If you don't know what to order then ask for a sample. All of the employees willingly let you try the food before you order it. I feel that is a great option because sometimes I want to try the new menu items before I decide to order it as an entrée. They also have small menu options for kids and a one-entrée plate if you are not too hungry. Each offer plenty of food for everyone.

On the downside, Panda keeps the food under heat lamps out until it is gone. I have been a couple of times and instead of giving me fresh food, they will try to serve me the last of what's left under the lamp and it doesn't quite have the same taste. I have asked them to replace it with fresh food and they have no problem doing that! I appreciate that the employees understand we want fresh food!

If you go to the location in the Chicago Place food court, you can take the elevator to the top and check out the amazing views after diner. Also, a few times, I have walked into their restrooms and they were not as clean as I would have hoped. The restaurant area was clean, but the bathrooms were not at all. Again, this is a fast-food chain and we all know they offer quick options for satisfying our hunger. Panda is a great option to pick up lunch or dinner when you are in a hurry!
