Chickadee Chirp Cat Toy Review

DizzyGizmo
If you're looking for a great cat toy try your local store. I recently purchased a toy called Chickadee Chirp put out by SmartyKat. It's a little plush bird filled with catnip that makes an electronic chirping noise when the cat bats or shakes it. There's a Velcro opening on the bottom of the bird if you wish to add fresh catnip after they've had it awhile. It's somewhat like another one that has the real tail feathers I've seen. But all of those feathers can make a real mess in your home. I bought the SmartyKat toy specifically for the reason of no feathers. The 2 cats I have are pretty picky about their toys also. They have never had a toy like this one before. I've bought the catnip mice before but they always seem to lose interest in them after a week. They love the round hard plastic balls with the bells in them also. They always end up under the furniture once they get to batting and chasing them around. Anyway the Chickadee Chirp bird is great. I bought this toy thinking they might like something new and the price was reasonable under $5.00. Low pricing is a big plus when you don't know if your pet will really actually play with a new toy or not.

I brought this toy home pulled out the tab so it would start chirping. My cat just went bonkers over it. He takes it and just starts rubbing it all over his face and slapping it around all over the floor. Then they other cat tried to get it away from him so she could play with it. Well he told her otherwise. He was not letting go of this toy easily. He was just in hog heaven with this thing. I have never had them fuss over a toy like that. They are so fun to watch when they get it. My male cat will lie on his back and hold it with his 2 front paws and just rub it all over his face. Then he'll get up and flip it around a little bit and then run through the house. Our female cat she gets it and she will throw it up in the air and then grab it. We will be sitting on the couch and she'll be on the other side and all of the sudden you see this bird in the air. She'll grab it and put in her mouth and walk around meowing with it still in her mouth announcing that she caught it. They are hilarious with this toy. If you want a good show definitely buy this toy for your cat. Just get one for each if you have more than one cat. Oh and if your cats are anything like mine hide this toy at night. They like to wait till we go to bed and play with it in the dark. The chirping sound is not loud but it can be annoying while you're trying to sleep in a quiet house. We've had this toy over 3 months now and they love it just as much as the first day. I hope your cats enjoy this toy as much as mine do.
