Chickasaw State Park...Where To Stay when Working in the Pennington, Alabama Area
A Place to Stay Temporarily
Gallion, AL 36742
United States of America
Unfortunately Chickasaw State Park does not have very many RV sites. In fact there are only 3 RV sites with water and 30 amp electricity in this state park. The lack of full hookups and the shortage of RV sites would make Chickasaw State Park a place to temporarily stay while looking for another place to park the RV if you are going to be in the area working or at least planning a longer stay for some reason. The price of $12 plus a 4% lodging tax per night is a plus when staying here. Other reasons for choosing to stay here include the park being a roadside park with picnic areas, hiking trails, a wading pool and several pavilions all located on 520 acres. There are also restrooms in the park, but there are no showers.
Primitive camping, such as pitching a tent, is also welcome and can have water and electricity as well. There is a $8 plus the 4% lodging tax charged per night for the water and electricity usage.
Day usage of the park is always welcome as is usage of the pavilions located on the property. For $30, you can rent the small pavilion or for $35 you can rent the large pavilion. If you are planning a overnight party or get together you may want to rent the bar-be-que pavilion which is $50 but is good for overnight and the next day. There are also picnic tables and bar-be-que grills scattered through out the park for use. The hours for day use of Chickasaw State Park is 7am to sundown each day.
As mentioned before, Chickasaw State Park may be the perfect spot to stay temporarily while in this part of Alabama if you are looking for a place to park your RV. It is definitely a place worth looking at for only a day or two. If you have questions about Chickasaw State Park, you can call 334-295-8230 or 800-252-7275.
