Chicken & Pasta Dinner

New! Romano's Macaroni Grill: Creamy Basil Parmesan Chicken & Pasta

Pam Harvey
One of my favorite Italian restaurants is the Romano's Macaroni Grill in Wheaton, IL. Recently while grocery shopping I discovered that the restaurant now has several of the restaurant dishes available in a box.

Introducing a new meal from Romano' Macaroni Grill. Finally, a dinner in the box, that you don't have to spice up the flavor. Everyone in my family can be easily classified as being a finicky eater, this includes myself. I'm always looking for a meal that will satisfy each of our taste buds. Now it's easy to achieve a restaurant style meal at home.

The total time from preparation to table is approximately 20 minutes. Pasta is boiled uncovered for 10 minutes in a 3-quart sauce pan filled with water. The recipe calls for 1 Lb uncooked boneless chicken breasts. I purchased a package of precut chicken tenders and let them defrost under running water for 5 minutes. You will also need 2 tablespoons of butter and 3/4 cup milk. The box contains the pasta, seasoning, sun-dried tomatoes, creamy sauce and grated cheese.

The chicken is cooked for 3 minutes on one side until the edges turn white. Next you stir in the milk and seasoning and heat until boiling, stirring occasionally until chicken is done. Sun-dried tomatoes and creamy sauce are stirred in and heated until hot. Finally you drain the pasta, toss with chicken mixture and sprinkle with grated cheese.

Fix this recipe exactly as directed, top it with a garnish of fresh basil and you've prepared the perfect meal. Hide the box and you have a new family favorite!

Sounds delicious! I have seen this advertised in the grocery store, but did not think that it would be very good. I'll give it a try based on your review! Does it have a high sodium content?
