Chick-fil-A, the Atlanta based chicken chain, has announced its tentative plans to bring a drive-through restaurant to the Bucktown neighborhood. The proposed 4,600 square foot store will be considered and reviewed Thursday, December 16, 2010 by the Chicago Plan Committee. The sandwich chain hopes to build a restaurant on the parking lot of the existing Home Depot store located at 2579 North Elston Avenue. Home Depot, also a company based out of Atlanta, Georgia owns the proposed parking lot site that Chick-fil-A is considering.

Prior to the current plans to build the drive-through restaurant, Chick-fil-A disclosed plans to build a restaurant on another Elston Avenue site, but that exact location was not disclosed. Chick-fil-A first opened in suburban Atlanta in the year 1967 and currently has approximately 1,500 locations in the United States. In addition, Chick-fil-A is still family owned and a privately held company.
