Chick-Fil-A's New Spicy Chicken Sandwich: A Lot of Heat for Your Buck

Most people think of a regular Chick-Fil-A sandwich as nothing to write home about. It tastes pretty good, it fills you up right, and it's chicken. However, maybe sensing their own normality, Chick-Fil-A has come out with a new sandwich: The Chick-Fil-A Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Burger King, McDonalds, Wendy's, Carl's Jr., Jack-in-the-Box, and every other burger place trying to add some variety has their own version of a spicy chicken sandwich, so its definitely not a dish that will they should snatch up a patent for, but it does get the job done better than most fast food joints.

The new Chick-Fil-A Spicy Chicken Sandwich adds a little spice and flavor to the classic Chick-Fil-A sandwich that everybody has been eating as a reliable, guaranteed to fill you up, meal for years. The breast meat of the sandwich is moist, juicy, and generally delicious. Unlike a lot of other fast food places, the chicken in the Spicy Chicken Sandwich is of a fairly good quality. It's tender, thick cut, and (no better way to say it) "chickeny", with lots of flavor.

If you're not used to taking on a good dose of heat, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich may end up numbing your taste buds for your next couple meals or so. But a seasoned spicy chicken soldier will love the kick Chick-Fil-A has injected into the sandwich. Unless you're a real heat wimp though, the blend of peppers and spices in the Spicy Chicken Sandwich is nothing a few good gulps of their home-made lemonade or sweet tea won't fix.

Like a normal Chick-Fil-A sandwich, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich is served on a toasted and buttered bun with two sweet pickle chips. And as usual with Chick-Fil-A, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich is pretty darn cheap; only $3.25. I would absolutely recommend upgrading that bad boy to a Deluxe Spicy Chicken Sandwich though. For only $3.61 you get the same thing plus lettuce, tomato and a slice of pepper jack cheese.

I give Chick-Fil-A's new Spicy Chicken Sandwich 5 out of 5 stars. It's no gourmet meal, but for the price, the speed, the amount of food, the amount of flavor, and the quality of ingredients (especially if you upgrade to deluxe) Chick-Fil-A deserves a high five, or a greeting card, or a pat on the back, from everyone in the fast food community.
